Sudden Failure?

Aug 29, 2012 at 9:21 PM

Hi!  I've been using this plugin very successfully for some time, but a few days ago it simply stopped working and gave me an error that says: "Google.GData.Client.InvalidCredentialsException: Invalid credentials".  So I figured it was something with Google.  Logged in and no problems and can see the websites.

When I go into my package, the username and password are blank and the "Profile" is blank as well.  So I enter the username and password and click the "Login" button.  Nothing happens.  The list of Profiles remains blank, even if I click on the dropdown.

If I press the "Test" button, I get an error like this:

The connection could not be established.Google.GData.Client.GDataRequestException:
Execution of request failed:
https://www.google.com/analytics/feeds/accounts/default -->
etc.

When I looked up that URL, I found this post:

https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/google-analytics-api-notify/dcdz3LzKnpA

I'm assuming others have also discovered this issue?  If so, what is the plan?

Thank you!

Joseph

I am also having the same problems. I now from other API plugin that Google has changed something in their API.

Are there going to be an update that resolves the problem?

Thanks

I've just tried started using this for testing initially and yes, same problem.  Is it because they have changed to a new version of the API?

Either way, I noticed this URL -> https://www.google.com/analytics/feeds/accounts/default -> Does indeed raise a 404 error.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

I've uploaded a new version for SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2012. This version now uses the management API and the complete Google API V2.4.
I would be glad if you can test the version in your environments and with your needs.

Cheers,

Hi,

Thank you so much for the update. I have installed the new version and I can now succesfully receive my profiles.

When I choose VisitorType as Dimension and Vistors as metrics and click preview then I receive the following exception:

"Not all dimension and metrics can be queried together...."

SSIS GoogleAnalyticsSourceException:

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
   at SSISComponents.frmGoogleAnalyticsSource.btnQuery_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)

But when I connect a ADO.NET Destination i succesfully recieve the data in my MS SQL , strange ha?

Best Regards

Hi Madsing,

yes this bug was reported to me today. The main error is fixed, but there is still a small error concerning the preview.
Some code lines behind the preview button are still not using my new management api method.
I will fix it as soon as possible.

Cheers,

Tillmann
